Government Affairs

The Chamber is the voice of businesses throughout Madison County.

We work closely with the City of Norfolk and Madison County’s elected and administrative leaders on key local and state issues, and we have solid partnerships with regional organizations and other chambers of commerce.

Annually, the Norfolk Area Chamber of Commerce evaluates the issues affecting businesses within the county and throughout the State and region. Together with our Local, State and Federal Government Committee and the Board of Directors, we develop a Legislative Agenda. This addresses the ways in which government can be more effective and supportive of a strong business environment.

Public Policy Events

Weekly Video Conference Call During State Legislative Session:  While our State Legislature is in session, our Governmental Affairs Committee hosts a video conference call with our state representative.  These calls are on Thursday mornings at 8:00 a.m. at the Chamber.  During these calls, members are updated on bills of interest as well as what events are taking place at the capitol.  All members are welcome to attend these meetings.
